The first bout of 2012 is coming quick, and the Kitsap Derby Brats and Galaxy Girls are working hard to prove, once again, that junior derby in the Northwest is a sight to behold. But before that game, we have several newly minted junior alumni playing in their first games for various leagues!
Slaughter County, Rose City Rollers, Emerald City and Jet City each have juniors from last year swelling their ranks and their season openers are a great chance to see how these graduates are faring on the senior circuit. Coming up this weekend, you can go see Thumpurr skating for the Hula Honey's at Jet City or see the Kitsap grads over at the Roller Derby experience. Next week, the Rose City Rollers and the week after that has some Emerald City action, so go see them. When we say "the future of derby is now, we mean it!
But back to juniors! As I said, the 28th will have the Kitsap Derby Brats vs the SDB Galaxy Girls in Seattle at the Southgate Roller Rink. Of course, I know how the Galaxy Girls have been preparing, and I have heard that Kitsap has been working out in anticipation of what is going to be a tough first bout for both teams coming into a new season of competition, so come see!
